Sent on November 17 2014 Beatiful postcard sent from Belarus 7° C

Taraxacum officinale,
the common name of dandelion, from French dent-de-lion, meaning "lion's tooth"
Considered weed, it has lots of medicinal uses and it is edible completely, roots and all!!!

...and of course, I love Lady Bugs!

Ja bez Imienia dijo...

I didn't know that it's plant is called dandelion. We call it in Poland sometimes "dmuchawiec" - from the word "dmuchać" ("to blow"), because you can blow it out :)
And the insect from the postcard (a ladybug) is called sometimes in Poland "boża krówka" which mean "God's cow" :)
Best wishes from Poland! In your free time - if you would like to - visit my blog. I've just started writing :)
Greetings!
